Greg was born and raised in San Jose, California. Beginning in 1989 he lived along the Klamath River in far northern California where he was a Wilderness Ranger, authored a trail guidebook, gave a few guitar lessons, and performed both solo and in several bands.
In 2003 he moved to Eugene, Oregon where he completed a B.A. in Medieval Studies at the University of Oregon. He also completed graduate work in History, English, and Education at the University of Oregon.
When he's not playing guitar, Greg enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, golfing, and reading medieval English and World War II history. Greg currently resides in Eugene with his wife and two sons.
Greg Ingold has played guitar for over 25 years. His fingerstyle acoustic playing presents a range–and sometimes fusion–of musical styles and genres. From Classical and Renaissance to contemporary folk, blues, and rock, Greg's eclectic performances combine intricacy with groove. Whether he's re-creating classic pieces such as J.S. Bach's Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring or something more modern such as Jefferson Airplane's Embryonic Journey, Greg's guitar playing often pays homage to acoustic guitar greats such as John Renbourn, Leo Kottke, and a host of others.
